Dear friends of VCMS,

It is with profound disappointment that we're announcing the cancellation of the remaining concerts of our 2019-20 season.

The Canadian Border is now closed, and our venues also shut down to fight the COVID-19, and it was only prudent for us to act together against the novel virus that has transformed our country and the globe. The health and well-being of our musicians, audiences, and volunteers were at the forefront in making the final decision.

Our season 2019-20 was a milestone of VCMS's establishment, especially considering some of the world's finest artists scheduled for this April and May, including Gray Hoffman, David Selig, Stefan Jackiw, Henry Kramer, Arnold Choi, Yoonah Kim, and Cheng2Duo.

The cancellation of these concerts was a painful decision, and we can only imagine how much your disappointment would be. Our sincere apologies, and thank you in advance for your continued support and enthusiasm for chamber music.

The new 2020-2021 season is now ready for announcement. However, we will postpone and do our very best to reschedule the above performances into our 2020-2021.

In the meantime, here are several options we would like to suggest:

-Donate your ticket(s) and receive a tax-deductible receipt for the total ticket value.

-Exchange to any of our future performances in 2020-2021 season, from any of our five independent series.

-Refund for the full value of the ticket(s): Please email

We will be in touch within 24-48 hours to process the refund for you

- Donate

- Credit: apply the remaining credit balance toward the new season subscription.

- Exchange remaining tickets for any of our future performances in the 2020-2021 season, from any of our five independent series.

This is a dire period for both musicians and nonprofit organizations reliant upon performances and ticket sales. The Canada COVID-19 Economic Response Plan does not include nonprofit societies, so an organization like VCMS cannot access that help. Your ticket donations and all other contributions will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt. They play a vital role in our survival in this difficult time!

Please email to for all requests regarding ticket donations, exchanges, and refunds. We will be in touch within 24-48 hours.

On behalf of the Society, we send our sincere wishes for your health and safety, and we continue to look forward to bringing excellent music and moving forward to a more beautiful season in 2020-2021.

With warmest regards,

Kevin Park
